A L’Arte Nascosta exclusive, this version of the “Ubi Es” ring is the result of a collaboration between Master Goldsmith, Paolo Penko, and Master Engraver, Jesùs Serrato.

Cast in Sterling Silver according to the traditional lost-wax method, the “Ubi Es” ring is further embelished by Jesùs Serrato, who applies a 24k damascened embellishment.

Originally designed by Paolo Penko, the “Ubi Es” ring is inscribed with an ancient betrothal vow in Latin: “Ubi Es Semper Ero,” or, “Wherever you are, there shall I be.”

Damascening

Damascening is a hypnotizing process.

An ancient art comprised of inlaying precious metals in other harder metals to create intricate decorative patterns, damascening was often used in antiquity to embellish arms and armor.

Here, our Artisan Partner and Master Engraver, Jesùs Serrato, employs the same technique to apply a decorative 24k Gold inlay on Paolo Penko’s Sterling Silver “Ubi Es” Ring.

The result is a beautiful two-toned ring that bears the essence of ancient charm on a contemporary piece of jewerly that will only improve with age.
