Roberta Giannoccaro’s “Botanico” collection is an exceptional demonstration of the uniquely sophisticated, lifelike quality of micromosaic jewelry. Inspired by the whimsical forms of the Chrysanthemum flower, each piece in the collection masterfully recreates the organic beauty of nature’s forms and colors through the precise arrangement of minute glass tesserae, or mosaic tiles, oftentimes smaller than a millimeter in diameter. While the composition of each piece certainly merits appreciation from a distance, it is when viewed up close that Roberta’s mastery and attention to detail truly shine. Every one of the several hundred tesserae that form each arrangement, though made of glass, exhibits the same shading and depth of color that you might expect to find in a painting, or in nature itself.

The Black “Botanico” Micromosaic Ring is mounted on a mirror-polished vermeil setting measuring about 3/4 inch x 3/4 inch. The ring is delivered with a display storage box, a certificate of authenticity, and a sampling of the bacchette, or colored glass rods, used to compose the micromosaic.
