The collaborative process of creation that unfolds between artisan and patron results in an enduring final work: an object that synthesizes the craftsman’s mastered skill and refined talent, with the personal meaning that the patron aims to express through the commission. Imbued with such significance, it is difficult to imagine that the resulting masterpiece could become anything if not an heirloom.

With watch collectors in mind, we worked with Rome-based Master Leathersmith, Dino Ciani, and Master Engraver, Jesús Serrato, to devise a unique bespoke service that offers L’Arte Nascosta patrons the opportunity to commission custom-made watch straps and watch buckles.

It is our hope that each of these handmade items will complement the most prized watches of your collection, enriching their already significant stories with your own personal contribution.

Step 1: Select your buckle style

We worked with Maestro Serrato to design three buckles that range in style from Renaissance, to Baroque, to Art Deco. Each buckle can be personalized with the patron’s own initials, which may be engraved or inlayed in 24k gold upon request*.

While the below motifs were designed with careful consideration of the aesthetic styles that inspire L’Arte Nascosta, we would be happy to assist you in designing a personalized motif.**

Step 2: Design your strap

Hand cut, hand stitched, hand finished with organic materials. Fully customizable. Our aim was to offer a custom strap service that posed no limitations to our patrons; every aspect of the strap (construction, size, stitching, leather) may be ordered according to your preferred specifications.

In order to guarantee the quality and graceful aging of his leather goods, Maestro Ciani sources his leather exclusively from Tuscany’s Pelle Conciata al Vegetale in Toscana consortium (Tuscan Vegetable Tanned Leather), which ensures the Tuscan origin, traceability, and standard of the vegetable tanning practices employed by each of its member tanneries.
