We had the opportunity to sit down with Neri Torrigiani and Princess Giorgiana Corsini for a chat about Artigianato e Palazzo and how it has developed over the past 22 years. More about that later, but suffice it to say - given how much effort and consideration they put into this event, it's no wonder that it has gained an iconic reputation as one of the best showcases of artisanship in Italy.
Later, we met with Fondazione Ferragamo (sponsors of the #BlogsanCrafts project) for a private tour of a portion of the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum. I learned about Salvatore's determination, his ingenuity and resourcefulness in times of scarcity - all factors that made this brand what it is today. As if the absolutely stunning headquarters in 13th century Palazzo Spini Feroni wasn't enough, I saw original shoes made for Maralyn Monroe (see it in the video below 😉), Anna Magnani, and other VIP stars.
All this was punctuated by lengthy conversations with my favorite people: the artisans!
Stay tuned for more about Artigianato e Palazzo!
